Improved performance in edge detection and segmentation

Most importantly, the major goal of the project was achieved, which was to develop a new resistive fuse network that demonstrates improved performance over previous systems. The ability of the proposed network to detect edges is much improved over a simple resistive fuse grid, as is demonstrated by the simulations that were carried out. The best performance improvement was found when the network was given horizontal or vertical edges to process, but the performance was improved at least somewhat for all the images that were processed. Furthermore, the new network seems to degrade more gracefully in the presence of noise than the standard resistive fuse network.
