Motion Detection

Another area of image processing that is crucial for video compression as well as robot vision is motion detection. Once an object has been detected, that object will probably move around, and this motion provides valuable information. Not only can the difference between one frame and the next be described by simple movement of segments that have been detected in some direction, but motion detection is one of the most important cues human beings have at their disposal for the interpretation of 3D data. For this reason, it is useful to analyse the effect of exposing resistive fuse grids to a moving scene. If the performance of the network is good enough, it may be incorporated into motion analysis networks [5].
